Course Information

Course content

Professional identity is essential for psychotherapists and counsellors as it forms the basis of their practice, guiding their therapeutic approach, ethical decision-making, and client interactions. It promotes consistency in practice, ensuring therapists adhere to a defined theoretical framework and provide structured, evidence-based treatment. This consistency fosters trust and helps therapists stay focused on long-term goals.

The course will support trainees in their written and oral exams.

Professional identity can be a dry and intimidating topic for most of us. We were not born with knowing our worth; it has to be developed consciously. It is not a feeling or a skill; it is something we intentionally work towards. Together we will start a journey of building your professional identity.
This workshop examines the most important aspects of
professional identity. It is interactive and includes exercises. This workshop aims to liberate practitioners from the myth that others are more professional than themselves.

We work towards developing a professional philosophy and theoretical knowledge. Through exercises, each practitioner will be encouraged to find their theoretical orientation, which forms the foundation of their practice. We plan to create an over-view that reflects your main philosophy roadmap for treatment and the your beliefs about change and healing.

The workshop covers the following areas:

  • Ethics and legal standards

  • Competence

  • The Therapeutic Relationship

  • Self-reflection and Awarenesss

  • Culture and diversity

  • Exam and preparation

  • Marketing
