Course Information

Course content

In this workshop we will explore how to use the Script System (O’Reilly-Knapp and Erskine, 2003) as a diagnostic tool both with and without the client. We will go on to link other TA and non-TA theories with this model.

We will go onto explore what are the next TA models the Script system can lead into such as Trautmann & Erskine’s ‘Relation Needs’ (1996), and Hardaden and Sills, (2002) 'Undeveloped Self Model’ - leading us to consider the clients multiplicity of self.

Throughout this workshop we will be considering how we can apply these models practically in our client work.

Learning Outcomes

The key outcomes from the workshop are:

  • A deeper understanding of how to use the script system as a diagnostic tool

  • Clarity on how to use the Script System to inform treatment direction

  • Awareness of further TA models to progress onto

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for psychotherapy students as well as qualified practitioners.

Given that we only have 2 hours for this workshop, although there will be some small group work, there will be a large verbal teaching element. There will, however, be space for people to complete some of these models during the session.

Fee: £8
