Monthly Balint Group for Clinicians Working with Couples+

An online Balint group for Transactional Analysts, psychotherapists, counsellors and coaches who work with couples and relationship‑diverse constellations.

Why a Balint group for couples+ work?

When we work with couples and relationship systems, the “client” is the relationship itself. This group offers a dedicated space to explore your relationship to that client: how you find yourself taking up roles, holding tensions and carrying feelings on behalf of the relationship. It is a place to reflect on the emotional impact of working with conflict, desire, jealousy, loyalty, secrecy, repair and loss in couples and other relationship constellations.

Monthly group meets online on Wednesdays 10.30am (UK time)

Who is it for?

  • Certified Transactional Analysts and TA trainees working with couples/relationship systems.

  • Psychotherapists, counsellors and psychologists with an interest in relational and psychodynamic perspectives on relationship therapy.

  • Coaches and other practitioners who work with adult relationships and want a reflective forum.

  • Previous Balint group experience is not necessary.

Transactional Analysis Couples+ Online Reading Group

Join a small, thoughtful reading group for Transactional Analysts, psychotherapists, counsellors and coaches interested in deepening their work with couples and other relationship systems, including relationship diverse configurations.

Over eight monthly 1.5‑hour sessions, we’ll explore Transactional Analysis papers on relationship therapy alongside other texts from the wider couples and psychoanalytic relationship literature. Each meeting will focus on thinking, perspective‑taking and the contextual clinical application of ideas – what fits, what doesn’t, and how particular papers and concepts shape our own practice with couples+.

Overview

  • 8 x monthly online sessions (1.5 hours each)

  • Max 15 participants for a lively but contained discussion space

  • £55 per session

  • Option to continue beyond the initial eight sessions as a closed or open group, based on a collaboratively agreed group contract

  • The session will be held on Wednesdays at 10-30am UK time
