Beyond Escape Hatches
Explore how to tackle safeguarding within our work as therapists. We will be looking at TA theories as well as best practice in other modalities' approaches.

Course Information
Course content
Beginning the workshop with considering safeguarding as a concept, we will then move on to explore some of the key writings on TA safeguarding.
Following from this we will explore how other modalities tackle such an important area, before touching on social care safeguarding teams.
We will then return to TA and explore what we can learn and implement from others' approaches and consider how these strategies can be utilised within the TA community.

This workshop will consider some of the key TA theories around managing safeguarding within our work as psychotherapists, and looking at the robustness of techniques.

About the trainer
Ben Groves – CTA(P), MSW, UKATAdip, CTF, PEP2, BA(hons). UKCP and SWE registered.

Ben is a psychotherapist based in York, previously a social worker for over 10 years, Ben started his private practice ‘Flux Therapy’ in 2019. In addition to offering psychotherapy and training, Ben also offers supervision and consultancy. Ben has a deep passion for working with and helping people in the most effective ways he can.
